Vacations VS Adventures

Colonel Jeff Cooper once observed that no one should ever want to go on a vacation.  His reasoning was that “vacationing” just implied that you were going to vacate one place to occupy another.

Instead, he reasoned that we should leave home with the purpose of “adventuring”.

The difference is subtle, but words are powerful.  

I believe that we’ll be taking more adventures than vacations in the near future.
