Trading Heartbeats

Somebody mentioned to me recently that you should always be proud of your work, because you’re trading heartbeats to produce it.  

And that statement really put things in a different perspective.  I’ve started considering everything I do in that context….Is this activity worth trading pieces of my life for?

When viewed through that lens, there are some things I’m probably not going to bother with any more.  There are some things that I’ll keep doing, but I’m going to do them better.  After all, if you’re trading pieces of your life for something you might as well do it right.

Ephesians 5:15  Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
