Go Shopping On Black Friday
I’ve worked a lot, probably most, of the family holidays since my kids were born. Coming from someone who has worked so many holidays, I can speak from experience when I say that you shouldn’t feel guilty for shopping on Black Friday.
Some of those holidays I was required to work, but some of them I volunteered for. For some folks working holidays is a time to make some much needed Christmas or bill-paying money. It might not be the most ideal time to be at work, but it’s a good time to make money-at a time of the year when money is usually in short supply.
Nobody is working at Wal-Mart for the fun of it. They’re working there to make money, and Black Friday is a chance to make a little more. If they didn’t need the money, or want the money, they wouldn’t work a job that required them to work holidays.
Don’t cancel your Black Friday shopping and don’t feel guilty about it either. You’re not forcing anyone to be at work, you’re supporting the people who are willing to work for what they want.
